Hogsed elected president of GAAO
Cobb County Tax Assessors' Office Director/Chief Appraiser, Phil Hogsed, has been elected 2007 president of the Georgia Association of Assessing Officials (GAAO), a professional organization dedicated to promoting the highest standards for technical accuracy, uniformity and professional development in property tax administration. Hogsed is certified as an Appraiser IV by the Georgia Department of Revenue and has worked with Cobb County Board of Tax Assessors since 1987. He has been the director/chief appraiser since 1994 and is responsible for certifying annual tax digest and annual rollback rates to the Board of Tax Assessors and taxing authorities, as well as overseeing the department's daily operations, including appraisals of residential, commercial and personal property. Hogsed has previously served GAAO as president-elect, vice president and on the executive board representing the Metro District.
